Raider Women's Basketball

CLC women's basketball has a long history of excellent competition, highlighted by the 1996 national championship. Randy Swanhorst has recently been named the Central Lakes College Womens' Basketball Coach taking over for Cassie Carey. Coach Carey resurrected the program to a competitive level in just a few short years which the current coaching staff hopes to continue to build on. Coach Swanhorst has coached basketball at numerous Jr. and Sr. High School levels including serving as the Head Boys' Coach of Lyle High School and most recently the Head Girls' Coach at Crosby Ironton for the past 17 years.

Coach Swanhorst's resume' at CI includes being the winningest girl's basketball coach in school history amassing 249 wins, coaching teams in 5 section championships, and CI Girls' Basketball's first ever state tournament birth in 2004. In addition, his CI teams had only 3 losing seasons during his tenure which included the first year record of 4-22. Coach Swanhorst has also had 15 high school players that went on to play college basketball and will continue to develop players at CLC for the next level as well.
