CLC Men’s Golf rocked the Division III world of the National Junior College Athletic Association in the spring of 2005. That’s when the Raider quintet brought home from New York a coveted national championship trophy – the first for our school in a fall sport with spring ambitions.
Coach Jim Russell each fall works with the men’s and women’s golf teams to compete among other two-year golf teams with designs on national qualification.
The women’s team has a goal of earning a spring trip to Daytona Beach, Fla., where the NJCAA Division III championship assembles some of the nation’s best female golfers on a community and/or technical college campus. The Raiders did just that in 2008 and 2009 by winning state and regional championships played on a local course.
