Head Coach Ray Austin is entering his 10th year leading the Raiders. Through his tenure, the Raiders have amassed a record of 192 and 117.  His teams have won 7 MCAC North Division titles and have been Region 13B Runner up 5 times. Coach Austin was MCAC Northern Division Coach of the Year in 2018, 2019, 2023, 2024 and 2025 and Region 13A Coach of the year in 2025.  The 2025 team won the MCAC North and won the NJCAA Region 13A title, earning them a trip to the NJCAA World Series where they finished 7th. The 2025 team had 7 All-Division players, 4 All-Region players and the MCAC North Player of the Year.  During his tenure, CLC Softball has had 32 All-Division players, 13 All-MCAC players, 3 MCAC North Players of the Year and 1 All-American.  

 

Coach Austin joined the CLC Staff as an assistant in the 2014-15 season and took over as head coach in 2017. Prior to CLC, Coach Austin spent a year as a softball assistant at Brainerd High School and 5 years as the head coach of the Brainerd American Legion Baseball Team. A native of Brainerd, Coach Austin was a baseball player while attending Brainerd Community College in 1992 and 1993. He then finished his degree at St Cloud State University. Coach Austin lives with his wife Kim and their 2 dogs in Pillager, MN.
